Metro Light Rail - Downtown Houston, Texas.
The METRO Downtown-to-Astrodome Light Rail System will serve the
Main Street Corridor, presently a heavily traveled bus corridor, with
two-directional travel throughout the day and a high volume of transfer activity
for most of the evening. It is a thriving corridor that includes Downtown, the
Texas Medical Center, entertainment and sports facilities, the zoo, parks and
museums, colleges and universities and rapidly growing Midtown residential
areas. There are 140,000 employees in Downtown, 30 percent of whom ride METRO.
The Texas Medical Center is equivalent to a central business district with
50,000 employees, 20,000 students and 75,000 visitors each day. Newly opened
Enron Field at the north end and the Astrodome complex at the south end of the
alignment will be major destinations for rail patrons. Many of the people in
this corridor will be within walking distance of station stops.

Order in Nature The Garden is a metaphor for the cultivation of form and spirit. It is through care, patience and respect that all learning processes unfold and conscience is awakened. The Garden mirrors this human potential for growth and withering... the cycles of lives. |
